How to Calculate Volume of Concrete

Before ordering materials from a ready-mix plant, you must know how to accurately calculate concrete volume. Buying too much concrete wastes money, while buying too little results in a disastrous "cold joint" if the pour has to be stopped halfway.

To find your total requirement, use a concrete volume calculator. Volume is a three-dimensional measurement representing the total physical space the concrete will occupy. In the US, this is always measured in cubic feet or cubic yards.
